The mandate of this institution is:

  1. To Harness the potentials of high quality Agricultural Scientist and to have organized scientific infrastructures for Teaching and Research in Agriculture and Commerce

  1. To team up with Governments and relevant world bodies in promoting Agricultural and cutting down hunger

  1. To encourage the "working class" continual participation in Agricultural business thus addressing the income gap between the rich and poor in Northern Nigeria.

Gambo Institute of Agriculture

The GIA is a Nigerian Based Agricultural Institution which was founded in the early 2000. The initiator, Hon. Hamisu Gambo then Legislator in the Federal House of Representative.
Plan was:

(1). To initiate a focus strategy and action sequence to significantly increase Agriculture  Productivity in northern Nigeria and thus cut down hunger and poverty in the dry land regions of the north and at the same time create job and level up employment among all cadre of persons in the society.

(2) To setup Agric based Enterprises and an Agric based Institute for Teaching and Research and Technology Application's to Agriculture, thus harnessing the power of new technology and the Global Market to raise Agriculture Productivity.

(3) To encourage the local to engage in specialized small scale farming Agric-business thereby reducing idleness, malnutrition etc among the masses of the northern region.

Divisions

The Institutes include a Department of Food Sciences, Livestock and Range Management, Directorate of Research (Library and Research), a Division of Home Economic and Women Development; [Engaging in activities such as Flower making and Arrangement, Propagation and Maintenance of Indoor plants, Preservation and Processing of Food Products Computer Vocational and Photographic Training, Spoken English] etc.
